20 Healthy Between Meal Snacks!

Healthy and Tasty Snacks!

Music is one of the most beautiful, God-given ways to calm and reset the nervous system.

When we listen to music, especially something peaceful or familiar, our breathing naturally slows, our heart rate settles, and the body begins to shift out of that “fight or flight” mode into a place of rest. Singing takes it even deeper—because now you’re engaging your breath intentionally.

That steady, supported breathing stimulates the vagus nerve, which helps calm the body, reduce stress, and bring you back to a place of balance. It’s one of the reasons I so often say… healthy singing is not just about sound, it’s about whole-body wellness.

And it doesn’t stop there.

Reading music, sight-reading, composing, or playing an instrument all require focused attention and gentle mental engagement. This kind of “active calm” helps quiet racing thoughts and gives your mind something structured and positive to focus on. Over time, this can improve emotional regulation, increase clarity, and even bring a sense of joy and accomplishment.

Music truly works from the inside out—supporting both the mind and the body in ways we often don’t even realize.

With summer right around the corner, schedules tend to open up just a bit more—and it’s actually the perfect time to invest in your voice or musical skills without the pressure of a full fall routine. I always recommend taking advantage of this season to try a short package of lessons. It’s a wonderful way to reset your voice, build healthy habits, and gain confidence in a relaxed, encouraging environment.

Whether you’re brushing up on skills, preparing for something ahead, or simply wanting to enjoy music again, a few focused sessions over the summer can make a lasting difference.

If this has been on your heart, this might be your perfect time to begin 🤍
