MY APPROACH

More Than Just Singing the Right Notes

Voice lessons aren’t simply about learning to sing higher, louder, or more beautifully.

A healthy voice begins with understanding how you’re using it.

My approach combines vocal technique with an understanding of breath, relaxation, vocal health, pitch, resonance, articulation, musicality, and confidence.

We work with the voice you have while developing the skills to use it more effectively.

Healthy Technique

Breath support, posture, relaxation, warm-ups, resonance and efficient vocal production.

Musicianship

Pitch, rhythm, phrasing, vowels, diction, interpretation and musical expression.

Confidence

Learning to trust your preparation and use your voice without unnecessary tension.

What Students Are Saying

Randy C. — Adult Voice Student, Tenor

“Pam has helped me a lot with breath support—which, as a tenor, is very important. She’s also worked with me on maintaining pitch, especially in the high register. Once again, critical for a tenor. And all with kindness and patience!”

Amanda A. — Voice Student & Educator

“If you want to become a better singer—whether you’re just starting out or already experienced—Pam Foster is who you want on the journey with you.”

Caden P. — Voice Student & Audition Preparation

3. We work on technique

Breathing, pitch, range, resonance, diction, exercises, etc.

4. We apply it to music

We’ll connect the technique to actual songs and performance goals.

5. You leave with something to practice

You’ll know what to work on between lessons.

VOCAL HEALTH

Your Voice Is Worth Taking Care Of

Your voice is one of your most valuable tools—and it deserves more than a few minutes of warm-ups before you sing.

Hydration, healthy vocal habits, appropriate technique, rest, breathing, and understanding how you use your voice all contribute to caring for it.

My approach to voice instruction includes education about vocal health because a strong voice and a healthy voice should work together.
