July 4th this year!
Things are quite different in our world today than it was even one year ago. Thinking ahead as to how to help our children, ourselves and even our furry dog animal friends, here are some tips!
Here is a super easy and fun July 4th Celebration activity – Creating Fireworks with Paint!
Using some of the left over cardboard toilet paper rolls or if you still have any: (rolls from the Christmas gift wrap,) we created different length ‘firework’ fans for printing with paint. The print pattern created by the cardboard roll fans mimics that of fireworks brilliantly and children can create as many different size and colored fireworks as they like.
You will need colored paint (we have only chosen 4 colors), large sheets of paper and cardboard tubes.
Cut the cardboard tubes into different lengths as shown in the photo, to create different size firework prints.
PLEASE NOTE:
Do not place the cardboard tubs into the paint until you are ready to use them because after a while the cardboard strips become soft and will break off after they have been in the wet paint for some time.
- When printing the fireworks onto the paper, we used a ‘bounce and twist’ motion as we transferred the paint and fireworks pattern onto the paper.
- Start printing with the largest fireworks cardboard fan first and print over the top with the next size down to the smallest.
- Create a fireworks using the smallest cardboard fan first overlapping the paint with the next biggest until the largest.
- Create single colored fireworks with no overlapping with several colors.
- Talk about the different sizes, which one is the largest fireworks and which one is the smallest?
- And of course, have some aprons and clean up materials nearby.
- Then, display your beautiful artwork for all to see! Enjoy!
What about our furry little dogs and anxiety with the sound of the fireworks?
For our furry little four legged dog friends, many of them are so scared when fireworks are heard. We learned how this one simple tip can help them to stay a little more calm during this time.
Have you ever heard of CBD Squares? We use them in our family, but they are also very calming to our pets. Simply peel and stick. (Make sure to shave a small area on your dog, so it is easy to remove.) We have even cut them down in size based on the weight of the dog and seen amazing results.
It’s always a right time for one of our Entune CBD squares. They work naturally with your endocannabinoid system to invite calm feelings, aid normal cognitive function, encourage a positive mood, support restful sleep, and soothe everyday aches. For more information, click here now.
