I’m sitting here listening to my favorite Christmas music, drinking coffee, and thinking ahead to the upcoming holiday season and, of course, my sweet hubby’s birthday! (November 5th)
What’s your favorite season?
Even as a child, I always looked forward to the decorations, delicious foods, and smells from the kitchen. My mom loved to bake things during the holidays. I still make her pumpkin bread each year. Our kids all have their favorite spices they like and add-ins, such as chocolate chips and cinnamon, and each year, I do my best to fill their tummies with great food. Even our little grandchildren now get their little pumpkin breads.
As much as we remember all the good times, loss comes at some point.
We have a choice. How do we choose to move forward?
This year will be different as my dear brother-in-love is now in Heaven. I can only imagine how hard that must be to lose your beloved spouse. We do all we can to help my sweet sister, but no one will ever replace our sweet Jim. I called him Jimbo! I’m unsure how that came about, but he always loved it.
Even in my sister’s pain, she has decided to host Thanksgiving Dinner at her home this year.
Jim loved celebrating, so in his honor, we will move forward and do our best to be grateful for the times we were blessed to be together with him.

This weekend, we will host our annual Gratipie Luncheon for widows and widowers. Click here to register and join us!
Here are some of our photos from last year! Enjoy!
As you can see, our group has some fantastic bakers, cooks, and chefs!
This is our fun little pie (GratiPie), where we learn about one another as we gather at our tables.
