One of my mentors says, “Be 1% better today than yesterday!”

In today’s world, many of us are still reeling from the post-pandemic phase and still struggling to return to normalcy. I’m not sure we will ever go back to where we were, but we can strive in our everyday lives to be 1% better than we were yesterday.

Studies say that it will take years before we know the actual effects of what the pandemic and post-pandemic years will have on us and our children. Talking with many teacher friends shows a definite increase in mental health such as anxiety and lack of focus. These challenges have affected our children’s education.

According to a BestColleges survey from 2021over 9 in 10 college students reported having experienced negative mental health impacts due to COVID-19-related circumstances. Some of these factors included struggles with isolation, anxiety, and lack of focus.

Of course, there are medications that can be prescribed, but I prefer a more natural way to help with anxiety and better focus. I highly recommend checking out these two products on my website. My husband and I both use them and there are third party peer reviewed studies to back it with science. Adaptogen Elixir for Anxiety and Nootropic Elixir to help your focus.

An article from Teachers College Columbia University states:

As the COVID-19 pandemic came with uncertainty and isolation, new research in a seemingly post-pandemic world has revealed evidence that the detrimental impact on adolescent mental health has persisted and points to multiple causes for concern.

These are some of the findings from a new study supported by the Icelandic Research Fund.

It was conducted by:

  • John Allegrante, Professor of Health Behavior and Education at Teachers College
  • Charles Irwin Lambert, Professor of Sociomedical Sciences at the Columbia Mailman School of Public Health
  • A team of Icelandic and North American behavioral and social scientists

“One of the key challenges right now that we are facing in the United States and worldwide is the decline of adolescent mental health,” says Allegrante. “If the pandemic has taught us anything, we must support our youth.”

The past three years have impacted us all, so let’s not be too hard on ourselves. We hope we all strive to be 1% better daily and move forward in kindness!
